Van Mahotsav, the annual tree planting festival, was celebrated with great fanfare across the country from July 1 to July 7, 2023. Crosslinks team observed Van Mahotsav week by engaging in a mass plantation drive in Kuchinda, Sambalpur district as part of its recently launched TreeShala initiative. Over xxx cashewnut saplings were planted on smallholder farms in Kuchinda block during this period. Agroforestry is an effective means for small and marginal farmers in India to join the battle against climate change while creating an alternate income stream through the sale of non-timber products.
